Shaimus blends hard-driving guitars and memorable melodic and piano hooks, with soulful vocals and sophisticated musicianship. The many moods of Shaimus draw comparisons to bands as diverse as Snow Patrol, to Queen and Jack Johnson, all tied together with the common thread of a commitment to songwriting. Shaimus formed in Boston in 2004, while the band members were attending Berklee College of Music. While they were recording their debut album Paper Sun, one of their songs was included in the first Guitar Hero game, quickly catapulting the band to a new level of exposure and to scores of fans. “Like a Fool” and “Tie You Down”from Shaimus’ second record, “The Sad Thing Is We Like It Here,” are currently featured as downloadable tracks in Rock Band 2.
